The usual very noisy and hectic Showmanship from the organisers where gadgets galore and very attractive models were the order of the day! The Final wait arrived who was going to take the prestigious ‘Amore Infinito’ trophy back home – joining the elite of World-Wide Cycling Champions? Vincenzo Nibali or Riccardo Carapaz.. Gilbert, Mister Monument April 14 th 2019 – 17:35 Philippe Gilbert (Deceuninck-Quick Step) delivered a masterclass on the way to Roubaix to claim his fifth success in a Monument, after his victories in Lombardia (2009, 2010), Liège (2011) and Flanders (2017). The Belgian star is the first rider to dominate four different Monuments since Sean Kelly in the 1980s. The race was hard-fought from km 0 until the finish in the velodrome, where Philippe Gilbert outsprinted Nils Politt (Katusha Alpecin). Yves Lampaert (Deceuninck-Quick Step) came third, ahead of Sep Vanmarcke (EF Education First) and Peter Sagan (Bora-Hansgrohe), who also featured in the long-rang attack that eventually led to Gilbert’s triumph. For this premiere, we’ll travel all the way down to the south of Spain, in Güejar Sierra, a corner of the amazing area of Granada, during the weekend of April 13 and 14, 2019. It will be an unforgettable two-days experience of pure e-biking, surrounded by a beautiful environment at the foot of Sierra Nevada and just few kilometers away from Granada, one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
