Wales End to End – 2019/20 £635.00 – £645.00 TOUR REF: WA91 / WA21 TYPE: Road Cycling LEVEL: Challenging / Strenuous DATES: 21 Aug – 26 Aug 2019 19 Aug – 24 Aug 2020 DURATION: 6 Days / 5 Nights (4 days cycling) ACCOMMODATION LEVEL: Standard Wales End to End There can be few ‘end to ends’ so compact and yet so stunningly scenic! This long weekend takes you from vibrant, metropolitan Cardiff in the south to Conwy castle in the north, via the Brecon Beacons, Cardigan Bay and Snowdonia. The route is seldom flat, and there are some steep (but generally short) climbs, but all this with the compensation of glorious views throughout the trip. Daily mileages are in the low 50’s. Our trip includes hotel accommodation on the evening prior to the start and at the finish in Conwy. For those who prefer to drive and leave their car in Cardiff there MAY be an optional transfer back to Cardiff on Day 5 (depending on numbers). TINERARY: Day 0 – Arrive Cardiff We will meet you from Cardiff station for the short transfer to your hotel. Alternatively you can drive and arrangements will be made for you to leave your car in Cardiff. Day 1 Cardiff to Brecon 52 Miles Our route mostly follows the ‘Taff Trail’/National Cycle Route 8, a traffic free route running all the way from Cardiff to Brecon. After Merhyr Tydfil we enter the magnificent Beacons National Park and the views are superb for the rest of the day. Day 2 Brecon to Llanidloes 50 Miles From Brecon we continue north up the centre of the country, occasionally following the A470 but usually paralleling it on quiet country roads. After Builth Wells we cross our Coast to Coast route and continue on to the small community of Llanidloes on the River Severn. Day 3 Lanidloes to Barmouth 45 miles Today we head northwest, cutting through the Snowdonia National Park to follow the River Mawddach to the coast and Barmouth. Day 4 Barmouth to Conwy 53 Miles Today is spent almost entirely in the National Park, sneaking between the high peaks but with craggy peaks to all sides. We emerge from the park in Conwy with its splendid castle where we spend the night. Day 5 Travel home The trip includes transfers to Conwy station or, as an optional extra, we can transport you back to Cardiff to collect your car.
